I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping you posted, but I have been very busy. My sisters are doing good and I am doing fantastic. Easter became my favorite holiday. We had an Easter treat hunt and Bo and I found all the treats. Brandy didn’t understand the game, so Mom just gave her treats. We each received a present we wanted. Bo wanted steak, which was great because we all got to eat some steak. Brandy wanted Mom to stay home for a couple of days, which was great because we all got to share her. I didn’t want anything, so Mom picked out my gift and I got the best gift EVER. My own Serta pillow-top big dog bed!! On top of that, she gave me the satin comforter off her bed and wrapped the whole bed. The satin comforter always slipped off the bed and caused Mom to cuss, so I am glad I solved that problem for her. I spread out on my bed and stayed there for almost a day. Mom had to make me eat and go outside to pee. I left my bed one time and Bo got in my bed. She had been eying it and I knew it. I paced and whimpered until Mom made Bo get up so I could get back in my bed. Since I got the bed, I have been venturing away from it for small bits of time, but even weeks later I still go to bed early to make sure Bo doesn’t steal it for the night. I am so happy!!!!!!!!!!
I am liking the routine around here. I know what to expect and I really like that. Something new in the routine has taken me a while to embrace – getting brushed. I see her do this to Brandy each week and she can fill a plastic bag with the hair she pulls off her. The first time Mom brushed me she had to hold me down. She told me I was in shedding season and the house was overrun with hair. It made my skin crawl. The brush was soft, but it felt weird. Then at the end Mom let me see all the hair that came off me and we were both amazed. My coat really shines now. She is taking a couple weeks off next month and remodeling her bathroom. The tub is being removed and she is putting in a big shower. She tells me I will be bathing at home now and not going to the pet palace. I enjoyed the ride to the pet palace, but more than that I will miss going to McDonalds and getting a cheeseburger afterwards. We would all share the burger when I got home. It was wonderful. Mom is doing the remodel for Brandy. She cried like a baby at the pet palace and she was impossible to get in the tub. For an old girl, she can really move to avoid a bath.
I spend my days in my bed and outside asleep under the big oak tree. I also like to sleep by the fence so I can hear when the squirrels are coming. I have not broken any of the new pickets. I also quit marking my territory in the back and now I pee like a girl all the time. No need to mark anymore, because I know it is all mine. Each meal I help Brandy clean up around her plate. When Mom is home I follow her everywhere she goes, but upstairs. Bo goes up with Mom and she gives Bo stuffed toys to play with up there. I hear the squeaks, but I am afraid, so I stay downstairs. One day Bo left a stuffed animal on the stairs and I went up a couple of steps and grabbed it, but it was terrifying. Mom hides stuffed animals now. Remember the big container of stuffed animals? I ate them. I ate all of them. Mom didn’t realize what I was doing until she started seeing stuffed animal plush in my poop. I even ate a rope toy, but Mom had to help pull it out of my butt and she said she was afraid that they were going to kill me. Bo misses all her toys and doesn’t understand why she can only play with them upstairs. I didn’t eat the squeakers, but I sure do miss eating stuffed animals…
I hope your life is coming together and thank you for knowing I belonged at this home!
